Quit my job today. No more 13 hour days of back breaking labor!

An old job called me up a while back and offered me a job paying basically the same Im making now but working half the hours and doing a third of the labor. Ill still be rollin' beer but this company distributes the imports so I wont be handling anywhere near the amount I have been working my gonads off on for the last 2 years! Plus Ill be maintaining and servicing draft lines too so I wont be delivering as much!

The best thing about this new job is about 3 times a year one of the breweries, usually Newcastle or Sierra Nevada, will treat us to a day of golf. Itll be on a workday so everybody pitches in so we all get done early then we all head out to the golf course for free golf, beer, food and beer!

I feel like I just got out of jail!

Gonna celebrate tonight too! About to head out and grab a 5th of Seagrams Lime Twisted Gin, Mountain Dew and Tostitos! Gonna sit around, get mellow and listen to some old 80's hairbands and think about the good old days!

Here's to ya my brothers (and sisters)!

    WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAH!!!

LMAO!! Id love to man but I actually dont start til next Monday. I was so sick of that job I quit a week early! I kinda planned on doing this anyway and had a couple big weeks so I got bigger than usual paychecks (I got paid on commission) so I would have enough to cover the week.

The downside is the new company pays every 2 weeks and payday is the week I start so I wont get one from them for 3 weeks! I should still be ok but its gonna be tight!

Ugh. The only thing bad about drinking gin is tasting it all the next day. :(

Congrats my man!!! I bet it was a nervous decision at first, but a huge relief afterwards when you did it.

I'm down to the final 3 days at my current job. This one lasted a year and 9 months. Start my next one on the 17th.

4 years ago when I left a job of 14+ years, I swore I would never trap myself in a deadend shithole job again. This job I'm leaving is good, but for an IT career person, it's a stepping stone. Learn what you can, then take off for the big time.

    F***ing great to have options!

    Again, CONGRATS!!!
    No excuses!

Yes it was. You get used to a job and with that comes security. Even tho I hated this last job more than any Ive ever had I was still skeered to quit cause you feel secure in what youre familar with and it makes you a little leary leaving that especially when that is what is putting a roof over your head.

Still, I worked at this new place from 2000-2002 so I know what Im going back to and that makes it easier.

One thing thats nice, no more Post Weekend Depression. Sunday about 5:00 is the worst time of the week for me. The sun starts setting and you know your weekend is over and its back to 12 hours of pain the next day.
