    I use the DWL-122 since the Tivo isn't capable of G-type speeds anyway using the old USB 1.1 technology.

    It shows the DWL-G120 as a good match.

    BTW, your G122 shows to work with software versions later than 7.1. Are you sure you set it up properly? They are really finicky to get working. I had to try a couple times to get mine going.

    I went out and bought a netgear FA120 USB to Ethernet adapter just to be done with it. I acutally just downloaded the software and am at 7.2, but I'm not going to mess with what I've currently got working.....

    Glad you're up and going with some type of connection. I love moving shows from my bedroom Tivo to my office computer to watch while I'm online or doing light work.

    Have you used Tivo desktop yet?

    Brett, if you can't get the G set up, I believe I have the non-G 122 on one of the (5) systems in the wireless LAN here. I'll do some checking and we could do a swap if that works for you. I know I have all the original packing, books, and software for my DLink gear.

    Ooops... typing while the problem was being solved.

    BTW - Brett, what was the final outcome with your gacked notebook PC (I lost track of the thread)?

    I barely got this thing hooked up and running as of like 3 hours ago. I'm definitely glad that I'm networked so that I do have that option (not that I'd have a clue how to use it at this point), because getting phone service for this one thing wasn't gonna happen.

    Do you have a cable broadband hookup for internet?

    Yes.....Comcast here....I won't ever have anything less.

    EDIT: Hey, with me having some shows on a season pass, I have to leave the cable box on 24/7 for that to ever work, right?

    They include a remote IR sender that plugs into Tivo that controls your box. That has to be used to control your cable box. I don't know if Tivo can turn it on and off or not. I don't use Tivo through my cable box, since I don't have any scrambled channels on my service. When in doubt, look in the guide book....... :D

    I was connected via those IR cables and I called them to complain that to change a channel i could hit the button, then in about 5 seconds I would have a different station on the screen (ridiculous) and they had me hook up the serial cable, which makes channel changing an instant thing thank god.

    I wish they'd releasea non-directTV dual tuner unit damnit......

    Yeah, Direct TV has that market cornered for now. I didn't think about the serial connection. I'll remember that if I move mine to the cable box. I don't think you have to leave the box on 24/7. Tivo finds it on or off and makes the needed change.

    When you learn all the cool stuff it can do, you will never be slave to program timing again. My wife laughed at me when I first got it, and now she uses it for me, when I work late. Too cool!!!!!!!!!
