I think these names would be more helpful if they are maintained in a list which is similar to "Good Polk Forum buyers and sellers...THE LIST". Another way is to put it in individual signature.

Mine is the same with the one in here.

    That's is a good idea.

Should we have a sticky for this or just put them in one's sig??

Any opinions on which would be best?

A list would be nice if you find something on ebay in the last few hours and want to know for certain. However, I don't know if a sticky is necessary.

    BTW, mine is:

    ebay - zholcomb
agon - same or maybe with a 12 at the end. I can't remember for sure. I always have to type both in till i get one to work.

Anyone wishing to win anything I'm bidding on is welcome to go after it. That is the premise behind ebay. :)
    madmax

Edit: I really don't like the idea of people staying away because I have an interest in a particular item. The reason is that sometimes it is a big interest and sometimes it is only a passing interest.

For example, just because I bid $500 on a set of speakers which should sell for $1000 doesn't mean my polk buddy shouldn't bid the $1000 he wants to. In effect, the speakers may end up selling for $501 to some looser non-polkie anyway if he stays away.

E-bay is NOT the Polk Flea Market. E-bay is E-bay. Every man (woman) for themself. If I find something on E-bay (or wherever) that I've been looking for a while that I REALLY want...should I hold back because another Polk Fourm member happened to bid first? There have been numerous occasions that E-bay items have been posted on this forum as general information. Should bidding on that item be limited to the person that happened to sign on to the forum first? I understand what is being done here and it is a nice gesture. It may not stop someone else from bidding but it may temper their bids. I will probably do what I always do. Determine a price I feel the item is worth (to me) and bid till I win or get out bid. There have been items I'm not interested in that I know someone else is. In that instance I do not post it on the forum. I will contact that person directly to let them know. Once it is public knowledge it's fair game for anyone to bid.

An example of why...Let's say there is a Bose® cube pesonally autographed by Doro. I see that Noel has bid $2 for this valuable item. I would love to have it and would be willing to pay $2.50. I hold off because Noel is bidding. He gets sniped at the last minute at $2.25. Noel doesn't get it...I don't get it...we all lose.

I don't buy a lot on E-bay, so I doubt I'll be any threat to you guys.

    EDIT: I concur with Madmax

Sorry just trying to be considerate of my fellow polkies.

And as I stated, I've only bid twice on EBay and used the BIN twice for tubes.
I wouldn't want to take something that I might just be mildly interested in from another Member who really needs or wants it.

Another reason for this was to also be able to contact the other Member to find out if that person will be upset or care, if I were to join in the bidding, or not. I don't mean for this to mean that if another member is bidding then we are to stay clear of that item. I've seen on numerous occasions where someone posted a link to...let's say a pair of CRSs, and there had already been bids from....let's say F1Nut. Well out of respect for Jesse, noone bid on that item till Jesse said he was out. What is wrong with that. All I'm saying is that if two of our members are on the same item, they might be driving the price up not knowing they are bidding against each other. That was the only reason for this thread. Not to deter anyone from getting what they want/need for their rig.

Nothing to be sorry about. As I said...I understand the gesture. However, If a member NEEDS or WANTS and item they will bid appropriately (ie; outbid everyone else who NEEDS or WANTS it)

I am actually pissed at Jesse right now. ;) He didn't take me over to hear his "LEGENDARY RIG". I really would like to hear his set-up sometime and most likely missed the only opportunity I will ever get :(

Don't worry, you didn't miss anything. Except possibly one the finest systems I've ever heard.

Edit: I think he had it disassembled for his move anyway.

Most people would need an air photo recon image and a GPS system to find Jesse's house and the legendary rig in the back woods of Maryland. It's well worth the trip though. ;)

My rule of thumb with Ebay is to not bid on something a known fellow CP member is the current high bidder on. Otherwise...dog eat dog. :D

Love the way the lack of an SDA cable lowers the price on a pair of CRS's even though they have the stands.

Thanks to any Polkie who didn't bid the price up. These won't be hitting Ebay again. :)

srtatman pops up on infinity and luxman stuff also
I thought it was fairly amusing also. The Polk Ogre doesn't always get 'it'
