I know it's frowned upon to post links to your own for sale items, but I didn't figure there would be a lot of interest for this piece here (no tubes ;) ). But I just thought I'd pass it along in case someone wants to try out a passive pre.

This McCormack TLC-1 preamp is so transparent and so uncolored. It pretty much has no sonic signature whatsoever. If you REALLY want to hear what the rest of your system sounds like this preamp is for you.

I'll say $465 shipped to club polk members. Better pics will be up later today, I've attached some older ones for now. Power supply is the little box on the lower shelf.

Thanks for looking.

No, I bought it used at Audiogon. I do love going to Progressive though! :D

I have a Musical Fidelity A3cr that I like marginally better. The MF is only different, not necesarily better. I've also got some other pre's I'd like to try at some point: Audible Illusions, Sonic Frontiers, Placette, etc. My wife is forcing me to sell some things before I can buy anything.

I will keep that in mind! ;) I mainly have my eye on the AI L1, I think you have the 3A, right? I like the L1 for having a single volume control but it also has level adjustment for each channel. That is IF I can make myself live without a remote again. :D

I've learned to love the dual stepped attenuators... Remote? Na. You can't change the volume mid stream in a live setting, right? :)

Man what a good deal on a great preamp. If I was looking, I'd snag it in a second...

I live in Columbus, and love Progressive Audio as well. What type of speakers were you running with the pre-amp, and are you selling the DNA power amp as well?

I have Dynaudio 1.3mkII speakers in my two channel rig, the rest of my system is in my signature:

    Two Channel:
    Mains: Dynaudio 1.3mkII
    Pre: Musical Fidelity A3cr
    Amp: McCormack DNA 0.5
    Transport: McCormack SST-1
    DAC: Bel Canto DAC 1.1

The DNA power amp is definitely STAYING! I love that thing. I would only get rid of it to get a bigger McCormack amp.

You have some pretty LARGE SDA's in your collection. I'd love to hear those sometime. I've never heard any SDA's before.
