Go to OPPO's site.Political Correctness'.........defined
"A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a t-u-r-d by the clean end."

Let me warn you that if you have NEVER done any firmware updates you need to check which firmware you have THEN get the next firmware from the current firmware on the player. If you try to just jump to the most current you have a good chance of bricking your player.
DO NOT INTERRUPT THE FIRMWARE INSTALL.
IT'S best to download to a thumb drive first. An interruption can also brick the player.
Follow Oppo instructions to the letter. -
I haven’t seen or done a firmware update in years. I thought these players are well past that point.

Correct, there's nothing new. These are all old updates from several years ago. If you have never done any of the updates, can't hurt to get the old updates they offered. -
This is the page for the last firmware update in 2017: https://www.oppodigital.com/support/blu-ray-bdp-103/BDP103-firmware-83-1226.aspx
I've always just done automatic updates over WiFi but the USB update is a good option.
Start by checking what firmware is on the player already. No need to do an update at all if the player is working correctly.
