I hope at least some of you watched the Artemis II launch today. It was a something pretty significant in our steps toward deep space exploration. Yes, it's only an orbit around the Moon, but the testing of new systems that will take us back repeatedly is pretty awesome. Skip to about the 5 hour mark in this to catch the last 20 minutes before launch. It's awesome!

    Once you're in orbit, it's a floater.

I also watched it and was surprised to see how it's losing speed in it's orbit. No doubt it's planned but shortly after launch it was over 18,000 mph and I noticed today it's down in the 2000 mph range. That's a lot of speed that something scrubbed off.

I think that is a mistake on the livestream graphic. 2000mph would not sustain orbit. I think they are dropping a zero or something.

IIRC the ISS travels along at 17,000 mph. Hitting a June bug at that speed would hurt LOL

I think the Junebug would go right through you. :D The exit would be nasty. :s

Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Heard on the radio today, a compliant was received from Artemis, one astronaut saying one of the other three had left the seat up! This is the first spaceship with a bathroom. The bathroom really did have to be repaired today.
