Got an old set of 5Jr's back with a blown tweeter and dented cab. (Owner blew a NAD amp)

These were not in the fiasco, the 5B crossovers were and they checked out good.
These just need binding posts and the 2nd set of Rondo wires soldered in.
They Have Clarity CSA 12uf's and Jantzen air coils.
$100 shipped US-48 and Alaska ONLY

To convert these to 5B's, you'd simply swap the .55mH inductor to 1.55mh and add a 33 to 34uF shunt cap there also.

These are NLA. Keeping them in the 5Jr's and letting the 5B crossovers go.

    Will be tweeking
the tweeter cap if need be for a 28mm black silk...
    Dayton ND28F-6
I removed it's plastic factory bezels last week and carefully glued on the old DC28F billet bezels and tested them in 5Bs taped up temporarily. Sounded very similar with a touch more top end sparkle.

Rustolem truck bedliner is crap. Not the right texture like the 5B customs.
    Going to order the Herculiner.

Ahh you nixxed the magnet screws in the Dayton and glued to the faceplate? How do they compare in SQ to the RD0s? Too bad we are missing sensitivity data for all the Polk tweeters.

Those tweeters are very small. I wonder what it would sound like to turn down the faceplate to a smaller diameter and offset the tweeter in the cabinet for diffraction purposes while keeping it as geometrically close to the midwoofer as possible.........

These sounded better than 194's, maybe on par with the shimmer of the 198s with the factory 5B crossovers.

I'll get them thrown together next week after the cab repair is done. I cut off the rear particle board protrusions repairing this one and will do the other too.

If I build another set like this later, I'd use a nice flat pack from parts express and take the design further by machining the tweeter mount recess to the rear of the baffle. So no extra tweeter faceplate or mounting hardware either...
