Hi,
Been listening to a iBasso DX180 dap with my 40 year old AKG 240 headphones. I replaced the old cord with a balanced cable. They sound great but I wish for less outside sounds. I have a pair of Sony WH 1000 m3 nc wireless headphones so covered there. Thinking Meze 99 Classics V2 Closed-Back. Any closed back wired midrange all round headphones that could be recommended?
Thanks

Budget? I have a pair of the Meze 99 Classic V1 that I haven't really ever used beyond once or twice that I purchased on July 2021 from Crutchfield for $309 plus tax. I didn't care for their treble presentation, then again I also wasn't in love with the Meze 109 Pro's treble. Shrug. I'm weird.
Here's some closed backs I have and like for you to look into:
Sony MDR-1AM2 and MDR-M1 (Both good sound and comfort, IMO)
Focal Azurys (Really nice, very balanced and enjoyable)
Focal Bathys (BT but sound great, good app for EQing, also sound way better via USB-C direct to PC)
Audix A152 (Nice price and good sound, darker/warmer sounding)
