Nak made great decks. Even the low end units. I've owned several in the past. Nice grab for less than a Happy Meal

Just recently got my Nakamichi Dragon repaired and back in the main system. Also have two Nakamichi CR-2A decks elsewhere in the house. Currently bopping to Kenny Burrell's Have Yourself a Soulful Little Christmas {Chess CHC-91567}

I owned a Dragon for quite a few years. An engineering marvel that sounds incredible considering it's cassette tape. Always used high end blanks.
Once I stopped listening to cassette's it just sat there. Very nice piece of gear visually, but it made sense to move it along.
Unfortunately pre-recorded cassette's leave/left A LOT to be desired. Initially I would buy a new LP (this is before cd) and the 1st play I'd record using the Dragon. Put the LP away and listen to the tape. Later when CD came out I'd borrow friends cd's and make copies. Cd's were expensive at first. I'd also make mix tapes.
Glad I got to own and experience what is probably the best consumer deck made.
