Hats off and a salute to you and all the veterans today.
Our pastor is also a retired Marine DI and despite all that toughness his eyes began to "sweat" last Sunday recalling the USS Cole bombing where he lost several of his students. After all those years he's still visibly shaken as I'm sure many of our country's vets are. Happy veterans day to each and every one of you veterans and thank you all for your service. -
I was in a brain fog from yesterday's miserable plumbing job of squeezing myself under a bathroom vanity for a simple faucet replacement. Despite my best efforts we currently have no hot water in the entire house which I hope to remedy soon. I meant the Marine barracks bombing in Lebanon and not the USS Cole.

My buddy Bobby Dale joined the Marines. After basic he ended up in embassy duty, and IIRC said he got two pay checks, the second from State Dept. He told me he'd get cash at a new embassy posting to buy clothes to 'fit in.' He was stationed in Greece, then England. He called me from the embassy and stayed on the phone so the guys there could listen to the Super Bowl. I cannot remember the exact year. He started dating and married our ambassador to England's daughter.
