Cloning a pet...shame on you Tom Brady

So I saw a news story about people paying upwards of $50k to clone a pet (mainly dogs) that have passed away. As an animal owner/lover and having lost several dogs, cats and horses over the years I know too well the grief people suffer when they lose a pet, but this story makes me sick!

Instead of trying to bring back a pet that is no longer with us, why not use that $50k to help animals that are looking for their forever home. At the very least that $50k would made a big difference to all the animals in shelters. We have adopted at least 10 animals in the last 30 years and we don't regret a single one, they all became an integral part of our lives.

Thinking you can get the exact same pet back by cloning is insane. I guess next people will be cloning a family member that died and expect a 100% replica of that person?

While I agree with you on the cloning, you have no idea what this man donates to, he could be donating annually to animal shelters, maybe even monthly for all you know..

I will have to admit that there is one dog we had that, if I had the cash, I would consider this.
It is on the creepy side but, why not if one could?

Yea, I'm sure Brady does some donations for the good. But, you cannot expect to have the exact replica down to personality of anything. If I had a look alike of any animal we had and it did something not true to their "former" personality I would be creeped out.

    CTE...not the Golden Boy! :)

Remember the movie "Pet Cemetery"? :#

Not the same process as cloning, but I'm thinking the personality of a pet can't be replicated.

So the theory of an evil-mannered dog clone could result.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

    Well . . . . just part of me. :*

Wouldn't a plaster cast of it be cheaper than cloning?
