This is the most powerful hurricane to hit Jamaica in recorded history.

This makes me tear up right now, KNOWING what they are about to experience.

Here's a video clip of the rotation of the image above with color. I'm getting flashbacks from the 3 days of hell we experienced, maybe 5 years ago.

112 miles an hour wind gusts every so often, and then down to 30 mph for a while. It was pretty much a wait-and-see if my house was going to be blown off its foundation. :o:s

These MONSTER storms deliver Life and death feelings to your soul like a roller coaster for days. :#

They are forecasting this storm to turn Northward now.

We probably will not even start seeing reports until tomorrow, but with the intensity and pretty much a direct hit over the island? I can't even fathom the devastation that we will see. From the rain to the mudslides, to storm surge and flooding to the "actual" wind damage. Those types of wind speeds are basically an EF4 tornado with a very large swath. The wind gusts bring it to an EF5.

I have seen the damage from an EF4 before. There was nothing standing more than 4 feet tall....and I do mean NOTHING. It went from forests, with houses mixed in, to nothing over 4' tall. Including massive trees that were over 4' in diameter. They were just snapped like they were toothpicks, only splinters of wood remained of the once mighty trees and as mentioned, not a damned one was over 4 feet tall, including the splinters.

So, yeah, if believe in prayer? Now would be a good time to offer Jamaica your prayers.

It is going to be bad. Seeing how long it took for Puerto Rico to recover from a lesser storm, I'm sure it will be uninhabitable for months to come. It's even sadder when you realize that the US won't be sending any significant government help because of where we are these days. Hopefully NGOs and other countries step up.

It is estimated that EF4 conditions are estimated to be between a 30 to 35 mile wide swath. To put this into perspective, Jamaica is only 146 miles long. That's around 23% of the entire island.

    Yeah, it was brutal.

I saw a video today of a Fox news reporter on the Island getting shown by the residents what happened to their meek residences. They still had walls and roofs but the water level was 6' high inside and around their community. Deep flooding with muddy water. The floodd was gone but 6" of water was still inside their homes.

The people were saying we need help with raised voices. I would be asking the world for help, too.

Jamaicans WILL start to clean up themselves. They're good people and aren't afraid to put in a hard day's work.

This damage reminds me of what happened to Mexico City, Florida. Almost total destruction.
