He was sick for a while, some uncommon type of illness or cancer IIRC

Wow I heard about this last night, R.I.P. Ace. I have had his new CD blasting in the Truck on and off since it came out last year, thought about him while on the way to work this morning while listening, great driving tunes this new one.

He took a bad fall on some steps to his studio a few weeks ago. He took another tumble that landed him in the hospital and required a medivac helicopter to get him there. He went into a deep coma shortly thereafter and never came out of it...

Rest Easy Ace and thank you for the music. The way things have gone this year, I think God is putting together a metal band.

I've noticed on ebay that the solo album by Ace and his solo stuff after KISS has quadrupled in price since his death. I watched his solo kiss album go from $5 for a CD to $125 for the same CD from the same seller. There were dozens of unscrupulous eBay sellers who did the same thing.

I saw the same thing when Prince passed, had me contemplating selling my collection, glad I kept it. All his rare stuff has all been rereleased now..
