Picked up a super clean pair of Monitor 7s from Goodwill a few days ago with stands and some old apature speaker wire. I was impressed whoever made the stands even included inserts for spikes. Plugged in and tested them against the upgraded SDA-2BTLs and while they certainly don't sound as good they sound way better than I expected. It's tempting to upgrade the crossovers and tweeters as they might fit our smaller room a bit better than the SDAs until we get a larger space.zswo9dfwis68.jpg

Great Find. Fully-modded 7's are the apex of Polk monitors IMO. Those Sl2000's have to go, as they are not a representation of how great those can sound.

I have those exact same stands that came with a pair of 5B's I bought from DKG999 a member here. Like 15 years ago. Exact same oak stands with spike inserts. I wonder if the stands were Polk issue? My stands are like new, where the 5B's have some wear and tear.

    Generic time period stands.
