I'm just getting around to building a dreadnaught and went to check it with a multimeter. I using Speakons and do not get a reading from the left 1+ to the right 1+. Instead I get a reading (tone) when testing left 1+ to 1- or right 1+ to 1-. I've doubled check the wiring and everything is correct. Is the normal?

Yes, that seems correct. No continuity between the left and right channels, and a resistance between the positive and negative of the same channels.

Thanks for your help. I don’t fully understand how the dreadnaught works, I’m just coping the work of other people on the site.

It's an isolation transformer.Political Correctness'.........defined

Thanks F1nut, I was just going with that because the interconnect cable had continuity between each pin, so I thought it would be the same process for the dreadnaught. It makes sense now that you have explained it.
