I just did a search of specs. They both have 3.25" midrange driver.

The midwoofers are 6.5" each speaker.

Are you sure you have your speakers right? You've mentioned 4 different speakers. The first two you mentioned are the smaller center and tower, which share the 5 and a qtr mid bass drivers. The second two speakers you mentioned are the larger center and tower but share a larger mid bass driver.

And, if you plan on selling the larger tower, which I noticed in a different thread, you may want to double check your specs.....just an observation.

Thank you! I was even confused myself
  • The Polk Audio LSiM704 and LSiM705 speakers are part of the same LSiM series and share several design elements, but they are not fully interchangeable.

    Key Differences:
    • Driver Configuration: The LSiM705 is a floor-standing speaker with dual 6.5" extended linear motion (ELM) midrange drivers and dual 6x9" ELM subwoofers. In contrast, the LSiM704 is a center channel speaker with a single 5.25" ELM midrange driver and dual 5x7" ELM subwoofers.
    • Enclosure Design: The LSiM705 features a Dynamic Sonic Engine (DSE) that houses the midrange driver and ring radiator tweeter in a separate enclosure within the main cabinet. The LSiM704 also incorporates a DSE but with different driver configurations.

    Interchangeability:
    • Tweeters: The LSiM705 and LSiM704 use the same 1" ring radiator tweeter, making them potentially interchangeable. However, due to differences in enclosure designs and driver configurations, swapping tweeters between the two models may not yield optimal performance.
    • Midrange and Subwoofer Drivers: The midrange and subwoofer drivers differ between the two models in both size and configuration. These drivers are not interchangeable due to their distinct designs and roles within each speaker.

While some components, like the tweeter, may be similar between the LSiM704 and LSiM705, they are not designed to be interchangeable. If you're considering replacing or upgrading parts, it's advisable to use components specifically designed for each model to ensure optimal performance and maintain the speaker's intended acoustic characteristics.
