RIP Z...
Tom~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
Awesome entertainer, went to many of his concerts, R.I.P. Thanks for the music, memories and food from your personal buffet at Tinley park Ozzfest.

I knew it was coming. I don't usually get upset over celebrity deaths, but for some reason, this one hit me pretty hard. I have literally been a fan my entire life.Enjoying the journey while never attaining the destination.

RIP - Sabbath and Ozzy solo were in rotation A LOT during my formative years of music. So many memories listening to both.
Sad day for sure.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. RIP. A huge influence over my musical direction as a teen.

One thing for sure, when a Sabbath or Ozzy song came on there was no second guessing who it was, distinctive voice
War Pigs was played at every audiophile show I attended.Rare IMHO for heavy metal
Those who got to play at his July 5th farewell should feel honored

Sad day. I first remember listening to Ozzy when I was 15/16 years old back in ‘81 and have been a fan since especially of his earlier solo records as well as Black Sabbath. He had a real impact on most of the music I listened to as a teen and young adult. RIP.

I’ll relate a story about Ozzy. I was a youngster and a guy asked me if I wanted to go to a Luther League convention, where he said there’d be “a lot o’ chicks.” So I go. We had these cabins, there was a big lake there. We stayed in a cabin with some guys who had a battery operated record player. They had Paranoid, which had just come out. I’d never heard of Black Sabbath, and my buddy and I couldn’t believe it. Fairies Wear Boots, War Pigs, Iron Man - we listened to that album the whole weekend and never attended a single event. I was especially struck by Ozzy’s singing. My buddy even told me he thought he might burst into a ball of flames for going to a Luther League convention and then listening to sacrilegious music by Black Sabbath the whole time. Plus, a couple “chicks” heard the music and “came by.” Even I thought we’d burst into balls of flames after that.

****, this is hard. Absolutely my favorite artist of all time. Early 80's, pre-teen, getting into music. First time hearing Ozzy blew me away. This wasn't my parent's music. It had balls, it was heavy, I was hooked, immediately. Ozzy opened the door for me. I've never looked back. Thank you, Ozzy! Your music has been the soundtrack to my life. I am grateful for the opportunities I've had to see him live. Solo, and with Sabbath. Rest in peace. Your impact on the world will never die.
