Worm clamps worth a damn...

Man, I haven't been this frustrated in a while. Simple thing. Differing sizes. From 24" down.

These should be a $2 to $3 each, MAX cost. The prices I am seeing are around $23 to $45!!! (per)....plus shipping!

WTF?!!!!!??????!!!!

Where can a guy who needs them get a decent (preferably SS) worm gear clamp? From 24" to maybe 8"?

Yeah, I saw those....but I don't trust Amazon for much. It may "say" they are stainless steel, but it's probably cheap Chinese crap. I now they aren't supposed to be over torqued, but they at least have to do their job and clamp a hose or air filter solidly!

If I can't find a decent worm clamp, are there any alternatives that you know of? This is obviously for the engine bay, so extreme heat and other conditions will be present.

I picked up a big assortment of nice stainless hose clamps years ago at a yard sale for short money so I had no idea they were that expensive now. I did get sticker shock when rebuilding my boat trailer and had to buy some some square shackle clamps. Those things were stupid expensive for the ones I needed at the local autozone.

Believe it or not? There are 2 worm clamps that threw a plethora of codes on my truck. Since the OP on this thread? I tested the truck tonight throwing no codes. Intake issues. It all boiled down to those cheap Chinese crap that they sell us.

I ordered the 12" off of Amazon WC's, right? What did they send me? 4 feet or longer worm clamps that I can't even shorten to fit!

It's time to go real. Thanks for your suggestions.

Naw, the ones I got were listed as 12". On the label? Made in China. I bought them for a temporary fix. Waste of money.

Why can't you shorten? I've used a pair of Subarus to shorten some that were too long.

Because the cut out portions for the worm gear itself were missing for the first foot and a half. Stupidity beyond belief.

Next up, Auto Zone for a temporary fix. Got a 3 pack. Will go marine grade, HD for the permanent fix. It's amazing to me....such a simple thing that has one job...cheap Chinese crap. Can't even seal an intake properly.
