Pölk Monitor 7A Driver

I am the proud owner of two pairs of 7a's. First pair for $20 in garage sale. Loved the sound but did not know the Peerless tweeters were missing. Bought a second pair with Peerless tweeters. Wow what a difference. One the speakers is not working and wanted info on the driver I have no Polk stamp could they be the MW6500 or aftermarket? I bought a pair of monitor 4 to recuperate the Peerless and put them in my monitor 7. The drivers in the monitor 4 are Polks MW6502, can they replace a MW 6500? I hear that the MW6500 is 8 ohs and the MW6502 is 4ohs. The answer will help to decide if I keep speaker for parts.

Picture of the front and back of the driver in question would help tremendously.
I'm not 100% but 95% sure the 7a would have had the mw6500 driver.

    Definitely MW6500!
They're two types; silver basket with front paper gasket and black basket without the paper gasket.
None of the Polk drivers came with the gasket after the silver basket days.
Your best bet for spares will be eBay.

Look closely at the rubber surrounds for any tears or cracks. Ask questions about rips, cracks or tears.
I cannot see that closely on my phone

    Yes, definitely MW6500 in 7, 7A, and 7B.

That is interesting that your M4s you found had a MW6502 paired with the Peerless. If they came from Polk that way, it is the first time I've heard of it. The Peerless M4 were 8 ohms impedance afaik and, as you say, the MW6502 is 4 ohms. Can you verify that the Peerless in that one were not the 4 ohm version, which I have not heard of Polk using, but who knows?
