    Enemy of the State
May fit in nicely with the spying theme.

The list seems to lean towards spy/action movies rather than slower paced ones like The Manchurian Candidate or Bridge of Spies.

Consider one of the Jason Bourne movies.

Enemy of the state is a good one and any of the Jason Bourne one's. I hear there is another Bourne movie coming.

We had a STARLIGHT drive-in here in Wilmington NC. also. It closed about 25 years ago. It was turned into a weekend flea market for decades, but the property was sold many years ago to house affordable?... homes ( LOL) for the needy.

I never went there except a handful of times to the flea-market.

My parents did take us to a drive-in when I was about 12. That drive-in was in VA. somewhere.
A double feature HORROR night. I still remember it was FUN and COOL too. B)
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

  • Nice lineup! Looks like a solid mix of action and espionage. A few suggestions you might enjoy adding:
    • Atomic Blonde – slick spy action with great fight choreography.
    • The Gray Man – modern spy thriller with a fast pace.
    • The Man from U.N.C.L.E. – classic spy vibes with a fun, stylish touch.
Curious, are you sticking strictly to recent releases, or open to older classics too?
  • Trying to keep it to recent releases, there are so many great films over the years that I would need to watch something nightly.

  • Nice list! If you’re in the “spy/action” vibe, you might also enjoy The Gray Man (Netflix) — really fast-paced and slick. Also, Atomic Blonde and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy are classics if you want something a bit more stylized or cerebral. Would also recommend keeping an eye on Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery if you like clever plots and twists — not strictly a spy movie, but has that suspenseful edge.

One to celebrate the passing of Robert Redford....
"The Last Castle" also with Gandolfini & Ruffalo, worth a watch if you haven't seen it.
  • Summer is officially over, so I took down the backyard screen. Between digital releases, streaming and tridictional disk we had an eventful summer. Looking forward to next year, thinking of doing a Jurassic Park theme since there are at least 4-5 movies on it and nothing else will keep your head on a swivel when you hear those raptors coming from the side and rear surrounds. Possibley add in F1 & Gran Turismo.

The “Equalizer” trilogy. Totally Denzel, totally “Bad,” and totally awesome.

A few fun facts: Much of E3 used beautiful imagery from Italy’s Amalfi Coast as the Sicilian village. Small portion of the film was shot (and identified) in Roma. Smaller still but not identified in Napoli

    Enjoy if you haven’t already😊.

  • I'm a big fan of the Denzel series, just wish he started doing them earlier in his career. His age is showing a bit, unlike the Bourne series with Matt Damon that got him at the perfect time to squeeze out 4 and one, one off with Bourne Lagacy with Jeremy Renner.

Spy Game, starring Robert Redford & Brad Pitt, Redford was Pitt's handler and is accused of being a possible double agent. The story line goes back & forth from past interactions/missions and current off the books operation.

    Ah yes, that's the one.....
The quiet train car fight scene had me rollin'.
  • My pick: Top Gun: Maverick

Veteran ace pilot Maverick returns to train a new generation of fighter pilots for an almost impossible mission — and must face his past along the way.
It’s all about high-stakes flying, teamwork, and personal growth. Amazing visuals and sound make it perfect for a backyard theater.
