J.D. Sumner is(was) a famous bass vocalist from the days of Elvis, being a stalwart in the Stamps Quartet, and a few other vocal groups. He passed away in 1998, but his legend still lives on. IYKYK
Well today, I discovered a guy named Geoff Castellucci, who is a modern bass vocalist, and boy, he can dig DEEP.
The recommendation that led me to Castellucci is his version of 'Big Bad John'. Before playing this, make sure that your sub-woofer is warmed-up
I'm an instant fan.
Holy cow, also check out 'The Sound of Silence'. He goes low, but the bass guitar goes even lower, so a real 'bass fest'

Geoff is great! That particular song (The Sound of Silence) gets regular rotation on the rig. I'm a little surprised you hadn't discovered it until today. It's been mentioned on the forum a handful of times already. I will check out Big Bad John tonight. I don't recall hearing that one before, thanks.
There is another person who does bass like him. His name escapes me at the moment but He's one of the ones singing on the Fairfield Four's song, "These Bones".

Tom~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
Fairfield Four FTW, as they say.

(and not just for the bass - superb singing)
