For sale is the excellent and very rare:

Parasound P/LD 1500 preamp

The P/LD 1500 pre is the immediate precursor to the P/LD 2000 pre. It is also a John Curl-designed preamp. The 1500 model is in between the P/LD 1100 and P/LD 2000. Unlike the better-known P/LD 2000 and P/LD 1100 preamps, there is not much information online about the P/LD 1500. But the few articles and reviews that are out there all praise it for its sound as well as its build. It is just a small step below the P/LD 2000, and many steps above the P/LD 1100, in both regards.

I bought this about 8 or 9 years ago from a PF member. It is in Very Good cosmetic condition and excellent working condition. It is a fantastic sounding preamp. I had this paired with my Parasound HCA 1500A power amp and it was a match made in audio heaven.

I am not good at posting pics on the forum but pics are available on request. Please provide an e-mail address in a pm and I will be glad to e-mail pics.

I would like to avoid shipping and am currently only offering this for local pickup in the Albany, NY, area. I may offer a shipping option in a few weeks if there is no interest otherwise.

$425 cash only
Local pick-up only in Albany, NY, area

Package deal #1:
Take this Parasound P/LD 1500 preamp and the Parasound HCA 1500A power amp which I am offering in another thread and take both for $780 (a savings of $45 over buying both items separately)

Package deal # 2
Take this Parasound P/LD 1500 preamp, along with the Parasound HCA 1500A power amp and the PSB Stratus tower speakers which I am offering in other threads, and take all 3 items...preamp, power amp, speakers...for only $950 (a savings of $60 over buying all 3 items separately). That is a pretty super system for not a lot of money in today's inflationary market!

I like this generation of Parasound gear. The D/AC DACs of this generation are pretty nice too, if you don't need to go ultra Hi-Res.

This is back up for sale and I am offering a shipping option now. I recently got a quote from UPS for shipping to the Midwest and shipping (with UPS packing) was $75 to give you an idea what shipping may cost. Of course, shipping costs will vary depending on location.

Price reduced, especially bigger price reduction on the local pick up option.
    Shipping also available (see below).

If I may, the lack of photos and local pickup is restricting you in ways that severely limit your interactions.

    Tom:

Thanks for the input but both should be non-issues because (1) I stated in my 2 most recent posts that a shipping option is now available and (2) I also noted in all of my posts that pics are available upon request. I have tried, w/out success, to upload pics on here in the past so I noted in my post that I can email pics to anyone who is interested (I have lots of pics, including pics of the beautiful inside layout of the preamp).

    Understood.

Aug of '24 since this listing would suggest otherwise. The used market bites right now. I was just suggesting something you may want to do in the OP.

Thanks. I agree that pics in a post are always helpful. I would include pics in the post if the site were not so problematic since its vanilla upgrade and would allow me to do so.

But I am offering a shipping option and have lots of pics to anyone who may be interested in the preamp.

I initially limited the sale to local pick up until recently and I understand that limited the market.

I also recently had put it on hold for well over a month for a PF member who was interested in it but who decided in the end to go another route.

I agree with you that the used market is terrible right now. However, that is something out of my control. All I can do is offer a great preamp (and not a common model to find) at what I think is a very good price and hope for the best.

    Thanks again for your feedback.

    All the best.

    Peter
