Schiit Vidar 2 for SDA 2B's

Hello,

I am looking for a new power amp for my SDA 2B's and am seeking opinions on using a Schitt Vidar 2 for them. I'm thinking I'd be using 1 amp for both speakers, rather than a separate one for each speaker. Schiit claims this is capable of 100W at 8 ohms and 200W at 4 ohms for 2 channels driven.

Thank you,
Greg

Do you have a dreadnought or AI-1 cable for the SDA2b's? Without either one of those you cannot run monobloc amps, which is basically what you're doing. If that is the plan and you do not have either of the above you will most likely need to remove the SDA cable, which negates the WHOLE purpose of SDA's.

Even if you are just using one vidar 2 amp, I think that it is dual mono, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to use this amp because of its design, but for some reason I was thinking that perhaps the negative speaker terminals might be common to each other. I recently checked out an integrated amp that was advertised as a dual monobloc but its negative speaker terminals were tied together. I sent an email to Schiit today so I’ll probably hear back in a day or two. But it’s probably not looking like I’ll be able to use it.

    Thanks,
