Is there ferrofluid in the ES15 tweeter?
Amazing speakers, however, what are these oily marks on the tweeter, is there a chance it is ferrofluid? It was like that since the moment I unboxed them.

That would probably be from ferrofluid. Especially if they were in a hot environmentGustard X26 Pro DAC

Is it going to have ANY impact on sound quality and performance generally? -
Did you plug it in and listen- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Oh yes! Totally loved them! I mean, are they going to degrade somehow sooner because of this? -

Ferrofluid is made from microscopic ferromagnetic particles along with a carrier, usually an oil. The ferrofluid is attracted to the magnetic field of the driver magnet, meaning it sticks to it like glue.
I think it's highly unlikely those stains are from ferrofluid migrating.Political Correctness'.........defined

The speakers have old manufacturing dates. Almost 4 years ago. If they were stored incorrectly or if the box was placed with the tweeters facing down, it might not be that difficult for a small amount of oil to run down its fabric.

This video should show why that's unlikely
