What are these?

Yeah, don’t ask me why I don’t know, I just don’t know, guess I never really cared at the time.
But, what are they, what do they do, and why have them?

Having trouble getting complete images for some reason in all threads.

The Silver thing at left rear is a Dust Sweeper. It picks up dust in the grooves. IIRC that one had a ground wire to discharge static. The sliding collet sets tracking force. They do cause a slight drag that may be measurable with low torque TT motors.

I've got an old Dust Bug somewhere. It did not have a ground wire. They suggested moistening the "bug" with distilled water or their record cleaning fluid to prevent static build up. Just damp, not dripping wet.

I did use it on some tables, but the tiny holes in the air bearing arm beam on the Lenco blows air across the record so no need for it.

I can't see the other thing the arrow points to yet.

EDIT: The thing at right front is an Integrity Hi-Fi Tru-Kleen rotating stylus cleaner with dust caps installed.

I think that 2nd one may be some kind of fancy built in stylus cleaner.
I found this that has a similar look: https://audiotwo.com/collections/turntable-accessories/products/integrityhifi-tru-kleen-stylus-cleaner

I prefer to use this type...

I was editing while billbillw was posting so he wins. :) I could only see partial pics in any thread here for an hour or so.

Tru-Kleen uses Blu-Tack and Magic Eraser. The pedestal is modular/adjustable to allow fitting to lower platter heights. They also market a dust sweeper and tone arm lifter with a couple various heights. I think the dust covers are aftermarket tubing caps and not included.

I used to use an Onzow Zero Dust but it was leaving gunk on stylus/cantilever, so I quit using it. Like billbillw, I use that same stylus brush.
