    Lol!

I found a handful of suspect parts that seem to be associated with some nearby op amps (which are in line with those resistors)

Some of the guys at diyaudio have changed out the 555 timer to a lower noise ICM7555IPAZ, I guess it's the heart of the oscillator so to speak.

I sourced a military version of the ad705aq so I ordered 20 (minimum order). This opamp is used in a few other places in the amp as well.

There is also a new version replacement of another ic I will go ahead and replace.

I plan to rebuild the control board before I order anymore regenerator parts.

    The fun continues!

I can't work with pdf schematics on the 'putie anymore. I go to FedEx Office, print them in large format (one was 24"x36"), and highlight the circuit.

Didn't Ken post an inexpensive op amp tester a while back?

I will have to see if I can source an inexpensive op amp tester.

I have been looking cross eyed at cap meters that go from 10 PF to 60,000uf but my eyes went a little cross eyed pricing it out. My current software only goes from .01uf to 10,000uf.

I honestly see the appeal to printing out these schematics, theres alot of information to digest here.

I did start a One Note document I have been building as I go here loading in the schematics and paperwork per board and documenting parts I ordered for future reference//// next owner if I ever decide to sell.

Thats good documenting your repairs/upgrades. I've done that and pass it on.

Sometimes the quality of downloaded scanned pdf manuals and schematics are poor. Sometimes there are more than one out there and are better, so I'll shop around.

Originals can be scarce and pricey. I lucked out and got an original service manual and schematic off ebay for my A-6300 for 20 bucks shipped. I've seen them sell for $100. The DL wasn't too bad but the original pops with voltage readings in color.

I've read there are some fee based companies selling high quality copies but didn't save the link.

Some of you guys are truly mad men, I love watching stuff unfold as you guys do work like this, I for one wouldn’t get this deep, I probably would be the one to touch the wrong area, and knock myself to the ground. LOL!!

    Great thread Trey..
