That Signature looks a lot like some of the classic TNT HRX model, but without the extra flywheels. I'm sure you will be pleased. Hopefully the sound improvement is worth the upgrade. I know the Scout punched well above its price point.

For now, I will use my Dynavector DV 20x2, but thinking about a Soundsmith Zephyr, but not 100% sure yet. I would like to stay in that budget, or less..

The Zephyr MIMC is what I have. Great combo. Especially with the Modwright.

B)B) Well, The Soundsmith is what I will order, Thanks Guys..

Table should be here Sunday. I am super excited, definitely an end game table for me..

TMR Has a Prime that is a few years old, I could have got for less than the open box signature 21, I went back and forth in my head making a choice, part of me was hoping one would sell, and make the decision for me, LOL!!

Awesome purchase! I have always loved the look and sound of VPI tables, and this one coming with a top of the line arm feels like a very safe bet. I'm becoming more and more focused on getting a VPI in my system at some point.

Would love to hear feedback once you're all set up!

Of course, Soundsmith sells direct as well, and the prices appear to be the same as the other retailers mentioned.

Ah...I've only purchased a couple of Grace F9 replacement styli from them, and did it from their website. Buying their cartridges must require going through a dealer.

I think so, I just wish I knew what “open Box” means for a cartridge, hours, original packaging? That kind of stuff..

Best wishes for a speedy and non-damaged delivery. I don't know about other folks here, but I am very excited for you. May audio bliss await. That is one cool TT!!!

Larry. Start prepping. Is the mounting location level. Get it as level as possible .

Well, the table was delivered much later than I expected, so I won’t be listening to it tonight.

But I did get it out of the box, and set up to a certain point, and all I can say is WOW!! This table is absolutely stunning, very solid, and beautiful. Did I forget to say Heavy?
I have a few pieces of gear, that I feel grateful to have, this will definitely be one of them. This is one of those end game pieces..

I should note, I was shocked at how heavy the drive motor is, it was a Holy Shite moment..

So, I’m a little frustrated, I have the cartridge all squared up, but I can’t set the tracking force, I have the weight all the way back, and it’s still too heavy on the front end. The fat boy 3D tonearm is different than the VPI tonearms we’re used to, it’s a very nice tonearm.

You can dial the weight forward and back, to adjust the tracking force.

I face timed a tech a little while ago, and showed him what’s going on. He said he will get back with me later on, and agrees something isn’t right.

So, you have the cartridge aligned properly and tracking force still too high with weight all the way back. Do they have different/heavier counterweights for the arm?

I've had tables/arms that supplied different counterweights and IIRC stub weights for heavier cartridges. I had to make a heavier counterweight for my linear air bearing arm when I added an Aluminum pot to a Denon 103R. I started with a putty ring and link from a small chain to get the exact weight needed to make an add on. :D The manufacturer would make them special order, but DIY was quicker.

With your skillz, you could make a nice one.

EDIT: I see Elusive Disc sells various VPI JMW dropped counterweights from 100 to 200 grams. I also see not compatible but they list three different weights for the fatboy (180/220/260).

Yeah, I could make one, thats not a problem, but considering the money I spent, should I have to?
