SB-1 Subwoofer (Only) Hookup to Amp

I bought a solo SB-1 subwoofer, no soundbar, used. I'm trying to connect it to the preamp RCA subwoofer output of my AV receiver. So far, trying an RCA converter to either a stereo or mono 3.5mm plug does not work in the subwoofer's input jack. The plug fits, but when powered up it makes no sound.

I have another subwoofer that works when hooked up this way.

Any ideas for using the SB-1's input jack? (I can't connect it via wi-fi.)

It connects to the Polk Soundbar wirelessly. It won't work any other way.

The system also requires high-speed Internet, Wi-Fi router and an Apple or Android smartphone or tablet.

    Thank you.

It has a jack labeled "Sub Input." I'm trying to use it.

    Hello,
Welcome to the Polk forum. Let me check with a product specialist at Polk for you. I'll probably get a response on Monday, hang in there.

I heard back from Polk and yes, that should be a functioning line level input.

Interesting as that is not what the Net says.

Appeared to be official Polk info.

Thank you, Selenium Falcon. Thanks also to whoever helped you.

The input jack doesn't seem to work whether I use a mono or stereo 3.5mm. (I do get lights when I power the amp, and the same wire hookup does work on an existing subwoofer.)

Could the Polk jack require something different from a mono/stereo 3.5mm?

I'm not sure, I'll ask what is required.
