Throwing around some Dayton caps and resistors! The resistors are under the board, how I like it... was a fun project!

Some partial upgrade work!
The Mdl caps are very nice for the money

How did the RTA11TL crossover upgrade sound?

All owners have been happy to my knowledge 😁- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Good to know as I start on mine. Thanks.

I like the way you tucked the large inductor underneath the capacitor on a standoff platform.
What would you surmise would be the improvements in a 7B that has Mills/Sonicaps and internal wiring upgrades but still has the original Polk wound air core inductors, in going with Jantzen perfect lay inductors or US Coils?George / NJ

Thank you!
The issue with the original Polk coils is how poorly wound they are. When you compare them to a perfect lay which is perfectly wound side to side and as tight as possible... The sound is just better. You receive more details and finer nuances. I highly recommend replacing board inductors.
Madisound inductors which are what are used here are not perfect lay but still wound way way better than the og polks- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Pardon my naivety…The issue with the original Polk coils is how poorly wound* they are. When you compare them to a perfect lay which is perfectly wound side to side and as tight as possible... The sound is just better.
…no chance you could “tighten*” the winding?
Thanks regardless, you make a difference to this forum

It is not just the tightness. A perfect lay is just that, perfectly wound with no cross cross wires, etc.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

vr3: thanks so much for taking time out to explain the term “perfect lay”Samsung 60" UN60ES6100 LED, Outlaw Audio 976 Pre/Pro, Samsung BDP, Amazon Firestick, Phillips CD Changer
