Should have kept mine, you don’t see Dodd gear for sale very often.

Still a little **** with his attitude when I met him at RMAF, he had to have been having a bad day.

Just pulled my Jeff Rowland Model 1 out of storage. I had it upgraded with the new front end boards a few years back. Still sounds great!!!

Are those power supply fuses? Can't tell but if you're in the "better power cables sound better" group those should be upgraded. If you have any fuses in the output stage like that, they are sucking the life out an excellent amp!

Good eye! Those are rail fuses...and they work well because they saved the amp from a naughty preamp!

^^^ I have no idea what that is?! :p I initially thought it was a TVC, but, nooooooo...

  • The photo was the underside of a switching panel that I built for my model train layout. I allows me to switch up to 20 turnouts and control the power to up to 20 different sections of the track. Here is a photo of the top and rear sections of the panel. The paint scheme is based upon the old Erie Lackawanna railroad colors.

    Outstanding!

I am reminded of some manner of old folk (?) song my maternal grandfather used to "sing" (for lack of a better word)... something about "the Erie Lackawan'..."

EDIT: Well... alrighty then... maybe it was Where Do You Work-a, John? ("On the Delaware Lackawan' ")... but maybe not. :p

That said, I found this -- which ain't my grandfather's song... but it is quite cool (and a new find for me)! :)

I was a train controller a thousand lifetimes ago. For the Soo Line. I just found my stuff from train dispatcher school in Minneapolis, which I kept for some reason. Very hard school, way more complex than I remember.

Dump find Yamaha RX-570 with the top popped for its roughly every five year control cleaning. This one lives in our "den" hooked up (sort of) to a TV (sort of) that we almost never watch. :p

One of my monoblocks wouldn't turn on... Sad but half way expected due to the age... Took an opportunity to take things apart and look for burnt things. I couldn't access it but I think the regenerator is the culprit

Agreed, it's way past time to change the thread title.

    rics to Erie Lackawanna
    Erie Lackawanna Video:

THIS IS THE ROOM WHERE THEY WERE BORN
ALL OF THE KIDS GROWN UP SO LONG NOW
AND IF I'M QUIET I CAN HEAR THEM FIGHT
BUT THE ONLY REAL SOUND IS THAT WHISTLING TRAIN AT NIGHT

THAT'S THE ONLY THING THAT HAS STAYED THE SAME
THE LONELY WHINE OF THE NEW YORK TRAIN
USED TO HEAR IT COMING FOR ME IN DREAMS
BUT NOW IT JUST SINGS ME TO SLEEP IT SEEMS

I CAN HEAR A WRECKING BALL COMING FOR THE HOUSE
SEE A WRECKING BALL GONNA TEAR IT DOWN

IN THIS KITCHEN WE WOULD LAUGH AND SING
NOW I EAT ALONE AT BURGER KING
MY WIFE USED TO COME HOME AND COOK THE MEALS
NOW MY DAUGHTER COMES WEEKLY TO FEED ME PILLS

I CAN HEAR A WRECKING BALL COMING FOR THE HOUSE
SEE A WRECKING BALL GONNA TEAR IT DOWN

USED TO RUN THROUGH FIELDS TO PUT PENNIES ON THE TRACK
NOW IT'S JUST BIG HOUSES WITH POOLS OUT BACK
THEY'LL BULLDOZE THIS HOUSE WHEN I AM GONE
AND NO-ONE WILL BE HERE TO SING THAT OLD TRAIN SONG

I CAN HEAR A WRECKING BALL COMING FOR THE HOUSE
SEE A WRECKING BALL GONNA TEAR IT DOWN
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Nice - you don’t see the MT-200 output devices very often…

I did not notice until today that the thread title had been changed. The old was very descriptive, but a bit over the top I gotta say.
