Hi just had a quick question. Are you able to use your external dac with an AVR?
I have an oppo 105 and a Marantz sr6009. My preamp no longer works and was hoping to use the Marantz as preamp only.

I don't see any digital output or passthrough (?) But I do see a passel of analog preamp outputs.
EDIT: You do have HDMI output(s), though.
But what preamp that you have doesn't work? Not that in the Marantz, I hope!
Something will need to work.
Alternatively, you can get digital output from the Oppo, yes?

I have a T+A p 1230 r I bought super cheap years ago otherwise would have been way more than I normally I would be able to afford. I bought an B&K 7250 yesterday to switch from a Theta intrepid.
The issue with the preamp is that it makes a real loud noise when connecting to the preout. whats weird is if a put a bunch of pressure on the rca cable itll work. i tried several cables.
another weird question could I concert the headphone out to RCA?Setup:

Loose connection on the cable connector. I am naive of this preamp; balanced (XLR) or unbalanced (RCA) inputs?

No it was optional but it does not have itSetup:

You can also use RCA analog cables from the DAC to analog inputs on the AVR.
