Pair Polk Rt7 Speakers - $150 Boston

Originally sold for around $500/pair in the mid to late 90's. A real a STEAL for the budget minded audiophile. Once bought, they will not leave your collection. Rare to find a pair anyone is willing to part with.

Black and in excellent condition.

I also have a pair of Monitor 7B's for sale for $150

Buy both because they are rare to find someone willing to part with them.

I had them not too long ago and they sounded fantastic. They are very well build and for that price is a very good deal.

I cannot believe these speakers are still here. Any college students in Boston reading this. You will not find a better speaker for the dorm room. The are small enough but pack a punch. 19"x9.5"x11" - 27lbs each.

"...Not only are the Polk RT7s just about the biggest-sounding, best-sounding bookshelf speakers we've heard lately... they're also among the best-looking, best finished and most versatile speakers around. Embodying breakthrough materials and design technologies they throw down a stiff challenge to anything sub-$1000 in their ability to bring a sense of lively realism and tonal accuracy to fine music and both the punch and clarity essential for dynamic movie sound."

"...the RT7's and PSW300's were a true knockout...They competed well with my B&W speakers [$5,500/pair], thanks to their smooth and extended response coupled with powerful and smooth bass reproduction."

The 7b's are the best speaker ever built for the $$. You can easily recap them if you want.

    I have had 5 RT7s since the early 90s . . . . IF you lived closer we could offer 7.1 w/my 18 HZ Velodyne FSR-15 !!

I'm pretty confident that our local BB has nothing in stock that sounds as good.

I would be glad to find out what newer Polk model was ~ = RT7. As it is, I'm about to add 1 as a center to the 2 w/basement TV; and pair the other 2 for a 2-channel rig w/Yamaha A-S2000, Marantz TT-15S1, Denon DRM-800, TEAC ud-501 & MBP w/SSD & Audirvana Plus. I think the Velo might just fit under the desk . . . .

They are great speakers, but the board has slowed a bit the last year or so, and the flea market especially. Also, they are large and the shipping cost is probably putting them out of reach for a a lot of folks. Finding a local buyer always takes longer.

Why not reduce the price a bit before literally giving them away? Some folks utterly perplex me...

Agree. Both pairs (Polk 7B's in other thread) are at the top of their price range... at the right price, they will sell. Why not try a 25 or 50 dollar discount, sell them both and get something out of them, and ensure they are just flipped on e-bay?

fedmetal, although more than the $150 this old sale originally asked for, get yourself a pair of new Polk R100's. I have a pair on my home office desk powered with an old Technics receiver. Fantastic speakers for the price.
