I've only heard them once at a local pre best buy place in Vegas when I was a teenager. I was used to listening to my father's JBL L100T powered by a Carver TFM-25 and CT-17 pre amp. I do remember the L250 (no clue what was powering them) being pretty impressive. Again I was a teenager. I can't imagine them being a let down considering how sought after they are and the prices they command. Would love to listen to another set.
I'm actively looking for some JBL XPLs right now. Found some XPL 90s on the bay. May bid on them.

JBL 250Ti Limited Edition Tower Speakers (Pair) https://reverb.com/item/72430034?utm_source=android-app&utm_medium=android-share&utm_campaign=listing&utm_content=72430034

Here you go man. I'll even come help hook them up.

Since I picked up the JBL S38BE, I let the XPL90s go with our bidding.

Some day, I hope to try some XPLs. 250ti would be nice to try also. On my list of JBLs I want are 4301b, L200T3, and 4425 or 4435. Or pretty much anything with the 077 tweeter. If I find some 007 tweeters for sale for a reasonable price I will buy them And build a JBL speaker around them.
