Heos

I'm an old **** getting into streaming a bit...just got a decent deal on a Marantz stereo 70's receiver with heos. Been running it off the tidal app on my TV...sounds pretty damn good. Would I benefit much from listening to tidal through the heos app? Keep in mind I know zip about streaming. :p

Short answer is yes. Go through the app. It's designed for streaming audio quality, the tv is not...

Curious, which receiver did you get? Didn't quite catch what your setup is.

Wanted to get into streaming but heos is not able to set this model up for some reason from my phone. I'm sure it's me not doing something right will continue to plug away.

Nice receiver! I'm not familiar with HEOS. Seems handy from what I read real quick.

Marantz/Denon updated the HEOS app last month. I've tried using the HEOS system before and always found it quite clunky from a user interface perspective. It's primarily intended to be a multiroom streaming system. Although I've owned several Marantz products the HEOS system has never been something I've wanted to keep using. It's also not compatible with all common streaming services. Tidal and Spotify should be good to go. May need to download the updated app and do firmware updates on equipment if needed. Yeah, it's more complicated than it needs to be!
