R700 + Yamaha as801?

Like the title says, will the Yamaha as801 be sufficient to drive the r700s? Thanks!
I’m torn between upgrading my monitor 70s to either these or the es60s. I feel like the r700s would be a more significant upgrade, but I’m not sure if my as801 can power it.

It would be fine. The A-S801 is rated to be compatible with 4 ohm speaker loads. People tend to run into trouble thinking that a multichannel home theater receiver can drive a whole surround sound system at high volume without damaging anything. Integrated amps like the A-S801 only need to power two speakers so the internal power supply has plenty of current available for that.
