Peerless Tweeter Faceplate

Before I take one out of the cabinet, does anyone know if the faceplate comes apart from the Diaphragm Assembly on a peerless tweeter? I have a couple I would like to take apart and sand and repaint the faceplate.

    No it doesn't. You can remove the faceplate + silk dome + voice coil as one unit and separate it from the magnet assembly but I wouldn't do that either because they are aligned at the factory. If you wanted to paint the faceplate you'd have to have a cup that goes on around the dome plus surround. Don't get any paint on the surround or dome.
