Not this time around. I have a lead on another one from Todd (not a member of this forum) but am holding off because I am going to decide whether to go server or something like this again.

The winner will be the one that offers less noise and a presentation like I am currently getting with the streaming rig.

That's probably gonna take some time, as I have much to learn about servers and the "other" digital side of the arena, versus simply plopping down a CD/SACD and listening.

So, with that said? Not gonna do it.

BTW, I can upgrade the clock on the Marantz but it's not a common clock. I would need a 66MHz clock. I don't even know where to get one....

8-32 bit AKM DAC's in one player....dear lord...

I have heard/auditioned Esoteric before. They are a damned fine player. I'll be one to admit that.

    Serious stuff!

4 per channel, I'm sure it would walk all over my Krell 505 evolution.

Without a doubt. The esoterics that I’ve heard have all had a more warm ambience to them, as opposed to the clinical sound that Krell provides.

  • I am thinking about buying it but before that I am searching for the reviews online for this one to make sure it is worth buying.
That’s a great setup! The EE80C188XL12 microprocessor could complement similar amplifier projects where precise digital control or automation is needed. It offers stable timing and performance for managing DSP functions, ideal for optimizing subwoofer response or integrating smart control in DIY audio systems like your Dayton Audio SPA 250 DSP configuration.
