For the last few years i have used polk SDA 2b(upgraded) for my main speakers. While Ive always enjoyed them, I never realized how good they really where. I just moved from one rental house to the next and man they sound so much better in this house. The old living room was large with a low flat ceiling and tiled floors. The new one is a little smaller but has carpet with a higher ceiling. The ceiling also has angled portions and is not completely flat. This new room has breathed new life into these polks. They sound much more smooth and less fatiguing. The imaging is also more holographic and its easier to pin point instruments/singers. The old room was definitely holding these speakers back. I never realised just how much the room can change things. I fully endorse moving as a speaker upgrade.

Well, room treatments may be a cheaper alternative to moving, but yes, rooms make a huge difference.
