I don't know what these tweeters are on what I believe to be Polk Model 11's or RTA-11's. I bought them about 15 years ago and have poked around on here and haven't seen any tweeters like them. Thank you.

Your binding post nuts are reversed. Red goes on the left.

Thank you for your confirmation of the tweeter model. As far as the binding posts, I didn't mess with them, I'm hoping the PO simply took the nuts off and can easily replace them by switching them back. I have no idea why someone would do that. Great catch!! I would have just gone with the colors so thank you!!

Is there any harm that can actually be done by having them reversed on both, seeming as they'd still be in phase with each other?
Like, are there any polar components Polk used in the crossovers which could get damaged, or no?My gear:- TCL 75QM7K TV

BAD SOUND They're playing out of phase.
Go home tonight and switch yours for the entire weekend and listen to them out of phase....report back. -
Igotstoknow the Monitor 11 is a great speaker. I hope you enjoy them. I had a few different Monitor 10's & I decided to try the Monitor 11 & make my own decisions & the 11's did well. I got rid of the Monitor 10's & I hooked the 11's to a Yamaha CR2040. I later opened them up. Removed the base (spiked the cabinets) Cleaned up the cabinets. Sealed the cabinets. Did all the woofer magnets to prevent shifting. Made sure everything was in correctly (with help from Forum members-thank you). Had lots of fun learning my speakers... There is a fair amount of info archived on the forum. Hit the search button & enjoy some great threads...I've noticed Google has some info but most is deleted over time... Keep us posted what you think & enjoy your vintage PolksRandy-Maine

Done. I can't tell the difference?
I swapped the cables around on both of my M5JR and I cannot tell the difference... maybe a minor difference but I'm not sure.
I then tried having only one out of phase and yeah I could very obviously tell. Voices which are supposed to be in the center of the stage are extremely localizable to both speakers. My gear:- TCL 75QM7K TV

Out of phase, when a big bass note hits instead of the driver moving forward to push air into the room the driver now goes in towards the cabinet "backwards". The same thing happens to the tweeter, unless the phase of the tweeter is reversed in the crossover, so yes there are many variables here. That would be why some speakers are wired at the driver in a reverse phase, RTA 12 is a prime example.

But wouldn't having both speakers wired 'out of phase' still result with them being in phase with each other?
I didn't notice any differences with the bass honestly, but the M5JR have hardly any bass output (in my room, at least) so that could be why.My gear:- TCL 75QM7K TV

If you are connecting + from amp to - on speaker and - on amp to + on speaker regardless if both speakers are connected that way the speakers are out of phase with the amp.Political Correctness'.........defined
