How do I connect Polk Magnifi Max SR to Google home

I've got a pre-owned Polk Magnifi Max SR, and I'm trying to connect it to Google home but just going through this cycle of it not being found. Tried all the help suggestions, I've rebooted WiFi, reset the speaker, cleared Google home cache, uninstalled and reinstalled the Google home app... Nothing is working and I always end up back at these two screens.
Google home app tells me I need to go and install device utility and try that...

Device utility finds the device but when it try to connect it fails with this message...


This cannot be normal right?
