    heck, we enjoyed watching Pee-Wee's Playhouse with the kids when they were very young and we were living in California. Pee-Wee seemed pretty normal against the backdrop of the Silicon Valley. ;)

    Apparently he had cancer but didn't disclose it very widely. :/

    I remember the first time I saw him. I believe it was Cheech and Chong's next movie or the Blues Brothers. Then I remember HBO had a show with him and it was more adult themed but, kids could enjoy it and then he blew up. RIP
