subwoofer for HT/Gaming/Music price rec

Hello,

I have read alot of forums about subwoofers, but they all discuss things which I think are ridiculously expensive and way over my head.

I was wondering what everyone thought would be the best overall budget subwoofer for HT/Gaming/Music would be?

I would like to stay below $300.

    The Polk Monitor XT12 is currently $299. But first question should be is it a good match for the rest of the system and is a budget subwoofer really needed?

    I have a Kanto SUB8 it does okay for gaming and okay for music.
    If you increase your budget for about $100.00 you can go Sonance - MAG Series 10" I have one on my bedroom set for music and is on sale at BB now or go SVS on the outlet store.

    I just scored a two year old SVS PB2000 for $400
    When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.
