Hello,

Noticed the Reserve R400 is on sale again for $489.

Now bouncing the thought of replacing my LSiM-704C for the R400.

I do listen to a few SACD so the timber matching is my main concern. Before the 704C I had a CSi A6 which was great for movies but pop in an SACD and it was not so great.

I'm not getting rid of my 705's so it will stay awhile.

Thoughts?
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

The R400 is a close match to the Legend lineup but the LSiM center channels are the best match for LSiM705s. I find the R400 to be a bit more bright/energetic/clear than then L400. The LSiM704C is marginally on the opposite end of the spectrum from Reserve or Legend speakers but they can all be used together if someone wants to. I use a LSiM704C with my L800s for space reasons. It blends just fine to me if it's boosted a couple dBs up from the main speakers for clarity and I don't feel I'm missing anything by not using the L400 I have.

Are those sweet deals on the 706 still available or don’t you have the room?

No those sweet deals are long gone.

I did buy a 706C it would not fit in my TV stand, inch too big. I was going to build a new stand but my wife said no to that. Sold the 706C making more than what I paid for it back.
