Wired Speakers no receiver

Hi, we just bought a home. The old owners left all of the wired speakers inside the home as well as on the screened in porch. However, they did not leave any type of receiver. I would like to know if this system works. I can't figure out what I need to go with them bc they have all been wired to the throughout the living room and ceiling etc. Can I buy a receiver or sound bar for the speakers? Thanks!

    At a minimum you will need an AVR.

    How many pairs of speakers are there total? Do you know if all the speaker wires come to a common location or just left in the individual rooms?
