I have an RCA amp, 200 watts per channel. I am thinking of buying a Yamaha Amp. They both would put out 200 watts per channel. What would the sound difference be, if any?

No we said the yamaha is better ESPECIALLY the one you linked will walk all over the RCA. At this point you're comparing pineapples to turnip's between the two. The picture shows a bottom end reciever your link to the Yamaha shows a VASTLY superior top of the line product in the Yamaha.

Personally I take any of the Yamaha integrated amps over the RCA. As again you never specified which RCA (I'm not aware of those they've never been on my radar) I've had many Yamaha pieces of audio gear not once was I disappointed. Yamaha's new stuff has had a lot of folks smiling since they got back into better gear instead of the mid-fi they sold years back.

@mhardy6647 is a HUGE Yamaha fan, hence his comment, and mine giving him a little grief.
If you care to share a picture of the RCA amp I'd love to see it. I'm not sure I've ever seen one. -

That's not 200 watts per channel. It says right on the front that it is 100 watts x 2. Also, those binding posts . . . are not good.

Actually, and in full disclosure, I am an RCA fan, too... but only real RCA.

I know Yamaha makes a good product , not putting my RCA down as I am leaning towards a Yamaha.

So... @Lawnguy54... do yourself, and us, a favor.
Go for the gusto. Buy yourself a nice Yamaha integrated amplifier (e.g., the A-S501), or (if your means are limited), something like Yamaha's little R-S202 2-channel receiver.
These are good quality, great value components that look nice and will sound good.

Don't be afraid of that 85 watts from the A-S501. It will better the RCA's 100 watts (ish... per channel) in quality and - almost certainly - in quantity (in terms of SPL without distortion or component failure).
Plus, you can choose black or silver... and it's $50 off from Yamaha, right now!
... and, if you can spring for one of its bigger (more expensive) siblings, so much the better!
