R200 vs r600

Ok I know w/o anyone seeing my living rm it’s tough to judge on speaker recommendations. So I’ve been going back n forth between L200 n R600, now R200….my living room is oddly shaped. The most basic dimensions are 12x12 but ceiling is a vaulted. 8’ all the way up to at least 16 ft. And the left of me is more like an open 18ft wide not 12ft…so a ridiculous shaped upstairs apartment. Lol

I’ve been teetering between the L200 and R600, but the more I read reviews on R200’s it seems like I could get away with those. I usually can’t listen to anything too loud anyhow being upstairs in an apt bldg.

Next question is if I decide on bookies how do I measure stands? Total speaker height, minus center of tweeter, usually 3”…trying to stay at same height tweeter as Rtia7’s…

Or am I over-thinking all this? lmao!

    Being a “large purchase” it seems like I did less research and contemplating with a large tv than I have with speakers…

    Why do you keep posting ‘L200’ then ‘R200’?

    Not overthinking. The R200 cabinet is 14.1" high and the L200 cabinet is 15.66" high. The R200 weighs 19 lbs and the L200 weighs 22 lbs. You may notice a loss of deep bass by switching to either of the bookshelf speakers with the RTiA7 going down to 35Hz and the R200 only hitting 51Hz. You may not care about that in your room though depending on how the speakers are positioned.

    The total height of the RTiA7 is 42.25" and there's a little difference between the tops of each speaker and the position of the tweeter but not enough worth being concerned about. So if you want the new large bookshelf speakers to be the same height as the tower speakers the goal would be stands that are roughly 28.15" for the R200 or 26.59" for the L200. I would go for 28" stands with the R200 and 26" stands for the L200. If the stands have adjustable spikes or the spikes can be swapped out for something different a pair of 26" stands may be suitable for either.

    A good pair of stands is not inexpensive. I'd take a serious look at the R series towers as well, particularly the R500 for that size room.

    If you can squeeze the towers into your budget, just go with that and don't look back. No more worrying about perfect stands to get as well, etc. and you get the fuller sound and higher efficiency the towers offer.
