In an interview concerning War of The Worlds the new project from filmmaker Steven Speilberg, producer Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed that screenwriter Jeff Nathenson who last penned "The Terminal" will be writing the screenplay for Indiana Jones 4.

I feel this is a bad idea...not the movie, but moreso the writer. .

I thought Frank Darabont (Shawshank Redemption, Green Mile) had already written a screenplay.

Guess they tossed it in the can and called the next guy in line.

At this rate, the movie will be about finding an old ancient artifact called "Harrison Ford."

It will be Indiana Jones wandering around a museum, meeting strange and unusual onlookers, having big adventures to the restroom because he's incontinent and offering wisdom to the new generation kids of whom he does not understand.

They got Jesse to star in this upcoming movie? This I'll go to the theater to see. Thanks Doro.

At a Screenwriting Convention in LA a few years ago, I had the pleasure of sitting in on an interview with Frank Darabont, who at the time said that he was meeting w/ Spielberg regularly on the script, based on a story by Lucas. Darabont had previously written episodes of Young Indiana Jones, thus the relationship.
One would think that with regular meetings w/ Spielberg, the script would not have gone to completion if it was not going well, but the popular rumor in most of the entertainment mags that I read stated that Lucas was ultimately not satisfied with Darabont's draft, and the film got once again placed in the second desk drawer you never open.
With The Terminal being a somewhat enjoyable but entirely too sappy film, I'm not confident that it will turn out stellar.
I agree Ford is just getting too damn old to be an action hero, and they should probably just let it lie at this point. Last Crusade was a good place to stop, plus with Denholm Eliot gone, a Museum without Marcus just wouldn't be the same.
Would be interesting to read Darabont's script tho...

Are there any movies coming out that aren't sequels, remade TV shows, or based on comic books?

Now that you mention it, I'm pretty sure all of the Pest Picture nominees aren't any of those things.
It's a crying shame that original films like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind weren't recognized a little more for the Awards. I thought that had a hell of a lot more to say than The Aviator, let alone some of the other films that came out this year.
