These sure kicked me in the but and gave me desire to hear more ! I loved them and had fun adding the rings and upgrading the tweets! This forum and a handful of its members sure did some of that same kicking me in the but along the way and thought to say thanks for the advice along the way! No more polks in my 2 rigs but if I didn’t start with polks and this forum I doubt I’d have the gear I
Do now not to mention the friends I’ve made here! I may have out grown Polk speakers but not some you crazy polkies here!

Think I’ve been through 5 or 6 sets of towers since these polks! Staying put for a while ,unless ......some crazy deal on some towers comes along 😃🎩🎼🎵🎶

How many sets have you been through in that last 10 years ??

For me it's been longer than 10 years but here is my progression.

    Cerwin Vega D7
    Polk SDA 2a
    Polk SDA 1 signature
    Polk 2.3tl
I'm done unless something kicks these 2.3tls to the curb.

Not over ten years, more like 25, but counting what I can remember of Polks that have come through but moved on:

    SDA-SRS
    SDA-SRS 2.3TL (2 pairs)
    SDA-1C
    SDA-CRS
    SDA-2A
    SDA-2B
    LSi 15
    LSi 7
    LSiFX (2 pairs)
    RTi9 (2 pairs)
    RTi150 (2pairs)
    RT1000p (2 pairs)
Associated centers and surrounds for the above... :)

And whatever I have now. As they say, it's the journey not the destination. I had fun with all of them and the only ones that turned out to be dogs were the RT1000 series "powered towers."

Polk 1.2tls have stayed put in their spot as mains for the past 10 years. But a much longer list for secondary rigs.......... khorns, Bozak concert grands, several models of ADS, Khorus Talons, Walsh 4's, Altec Valencias, Mcintosh ml1c's, Infinity q3's, Boston a400's, Polk rt1000s, crs's, rta12.s, 2.3s, Timeframe tf700's etc. It was a fun ride but in the end the 1.2tls easily won out over them all to keep their spot

most of the ones that have been sucked into my vortex since the second half of the 1970s -- are still here. :#

On the bright side, most of the ones that aren't... I don't miss.

I do miss the IMF SuperCompact IIs, but the MR drivers needed re-surrounding and I wasn't finding replacements myself, so I used them as barter. Danged nice loudspeakers and easy to drive, too.

I didn't even think about the Yamaha suround set up I came to Ohio with from MN in 06' as I naver gave that set up any thought besides it made the TV louder and I was still pretty active touring and when home, music that wasn't blasting me in the face from the monitor sends wasn't so important to me.
Then came along a set of polk RT 1000 speakers that got me listening a little, leading me to other Polk towers I think RT2000i? Ken had talked me through removing a part out of one that I blew up and he replaced it with a fix that put me back up and running.
Then came the Polk (for the bedroom) sda 2's (I think) purchased from a member here and thise were ok but nothing too special. Then I found a set of CRS +that I replaced them with. Then I found a set od SDA 2B's did a couple of mods and off they went to be replaced by Montana SP3's. (Those rocked) Moved them to the living room after picking up a set of Usher CP 6381C's that are still in my bedroom and after putting a decent amp in the mix those puppies are singing like I've never heard em before!

The Speakers that took front row and center stage are (still new to me) the Aurum Cantus Magic Flutes with a matching Rhythm Tech center, for rear surround I added (from one of our members here) the Usher BE-718's, and that room slams! Yes it's a journey and when it's all said and done, it's the speakers that let us here what's it's all about and that's THE MUSIC! Don't we all just love it!! Thanks for the awesome shares and looking through all the posts. Some amazing speakers owned by all of you!!

I came close a couple of times to buying Vandersteens, but ended up instead with a pair of JM Labs (aka Focal) speakers that have a time aligned driver setup. The Vandersteens with the black socks and wood tops looked like SDAs. Not too expensive for their popular speakers either. May still be worth a look.

I was thinking some of ya'll are out of control. And then I thought about it and realized I'm on my 4 set in about 4 years.

I was thinking about how many I've bought new.

So far, I can come up with two pairs. Ever.
ELAC Debut 2.0 B6.2 (on sale)
    Dayton Audio B652-AIR (on sale)

Oh, and two pair of R/S Minimus-7 (closeout sale)

    The ELACs aren't bad.
The less said about the others, the better. :#

Even my much-beloved Polk Audio Monitor Series Model 7A pair were demos from Soundscape -- in "rosewood" vinyl.

I purchased my first new pair of Polk Audio Speakers in 2003, a pair of RTi70's. I went online to register them and stumbled onto this Forum (the only way to join the Forum back then was to buy and register a new Polk product).

Finding this place has been both a blessing and a curse, on the wallet anyway :# I never knew an SDA Speaker existed until I came here.

Since that time I owned a few of Polk offerings and a couple of other brands.

    Home Theater:
    RT55i
    RT800i
    RTi70
    RTi12
Associated Center and Surrounds for each Series

    Two Channel:
    SDA SRS 2-two pair
    SDA SRS 2.3
    SDA SRS 2.3TL-three pair
    SDA SRS 3.1TL
    SDA 1C-two pair
    SDA CRS+ two pair
    Monitor Audio Gold Bookies
    Dynaudio Contour S3.4LE

    I currently have
    RT55i
    SDA CRS+
    SRS 2.3TL
    SRS 3.1TL

I don't see moving away from the SDA's anytime soon.

    Validation is key!

I feel like I don’t spend enough money in this area. Guess I had better shift directions from ammo and beer to speakers...maybe...

Like Doc, I've only purchased several pairs of speakers new in my lifetime. My first "real" pair of speakers was about 1970 maybe, a pair of Rectilinear IIIa Highboys. That started a thirst that progressed to a pair of used AR-LST's, one of the highlights of my speaker acquisitions. Much to my ongoing consternation, however, I traded those in to a high end salon somewhere around 1981 for a new pair of QLN speakers, which of course nobody today has ever heard of, and of which there is virtually nothing on the internet. A flash in the proverbial pan. I went back to school in the mid-80's and although I kept my vinyl, I sold a very nice system during that recession for peanuts as I needed all my available assets for tuition. I acquired another modest system after I graduated, which satisfied me more or less until about 8 years ago when I joined this forum after purchasing a pair of Polk SDA 2A's. In the last 8 years, the following have marched through my humble abode, as far as I can remember as I sit here at this moment:

    SDA 2A
    Monitor 4 Peerless
    Monitor 5 Peerless
    Monitor 7 Peerless
Monitor 7C with 194's and rebuilt crossovers
    Monitor 60e
    RT 7
    RT 16
    LS 50
    LSi 7
    LSi 9
    LSi 15
    LSI FX
    RTi 38
    RT 25i
LSiM 703- 2 pairs purchased new during Adorama sales
LSiM 704- purchased new during Adorama sale
    LSiM 706- " "
    L200
    Energy RC-10
    Dali Zensor
    Magnepan 1.4
    Dynaudio Audience 72
    Klipsch KG-4
    AR-9 LSI
    Infinity RSIIIb
    Infinity Kappa 8
Dahlquist DQM 9C rebuilt crossovers (Clarity Cap CSA/ESA and Mills)
Dahlquist DQ 30i - rebuilt woofers new tweeters, awaiting crossover rebuild

I doubt the Dahlquists will ever leave my possession, and the L200s are currently in the 2 channel. I still have the Kappa 8's and a whole bunch of the other Polk's. Never owned the big boy SDA's. My name is Don and I am a Polkaholic.
