Wingits

Options
Every once in a while you come across a product that is better than advertised. Wingits are drywall anchors that are made to bet your life on.... They started out as anchors for shower/bath tub grab bars but you can use them (and they now have different types for different purposes) for just about anything that requires a strong hold.

300 pounds supported by paper and chalk? I’m skeptical.
Super cool anchor though, never seen that style.

Thats 300lbs of sheer force... I don't know what that equates to in hanging weight but I an sure it is no more than what the rock will hold....The one's I have have a 500lb sheer capacity and I used them in a wall that has metal studs to hang my TV and wall bracket using 8 of them to go thru the metal studs. I put some construction adhesive on the piece that attaches to the wall and have an 80lb tv with a 40lb bracket that extends out from the wall by like 2 feet. The whole system is very solid and was tested by my 240lb handyman hanging from it... I check it on occasion for signs of stress and see none and it has been hanging since Jan. 2019. He hangs shower bars with usually 2 of them and they hold his weight every time. So if you have speakers or speaker brackets/shelves to hang, these may be overkill but they are way better than any of those other anchors.

It’s awfully coincidental that you post that now, timing couldn’t be better.
My entire system will be wall mounted on wooden shelves I’m building. My place is very small, an efficiency, really, so floor space is a premium.
I intend for my shelves to be centered on a wall, hitting at least one stud. Anchors for the balance. Was going to use the metal spring loaded variety, but I’ll check these out.
