looking for a tube pre, budget minded... audio experience is my first choice.. found this one today though... they offer another one also...

    I personally would give it a try if I needed one. His price is pretty close to the cost of parts. I kinda wish I needed one now. :)

    I'll add my 2 cents, FWIW. First, I am a proponent of purchasing Chinese audio equipment because the cost and value is quite compelling. I have a modded Chinese tube CD player that is just as good, if not better than the modded Jolida 100, IMO, based on an A/B test, and it was half the cost. Build quality is excellent, as well (18 lb. CD player!). The downside is that you don't get a warranty.

    Three things to keep in mind --

    1.) make sure the unit is equipped run with US voltage
    2.) double check the shipping costs (sometimes they can be quite high)
    3.) change out the cheap Chinese tubes immediately and be prepared to do some mods at some point to get the best possible SQ

    Just a note of interest, the Jolida is basically a Chinese made cdp with final assembly here in Maryland.
